December 2014

Welcome to our 2014 Newsletter and we hope that we find you all well. This year has been a year of contrasts for the Welford family the gales and wet weather in Jan & Feb brought some trees down in the garden and whilst trying to clear some of them Barrie broke his arm and shoulder which caused other problems but he is now feeling a lot better.

In August Abigail and Ray were married at a fantastic venue here in the New Forest. The weather was just perfect and certainly a day to remember. This was followed by a Honeymoon in Mexico, whilst we look after their dog. For the fantastic photos of the wedding see

Abi continues to run her own Stage and Dance Schools in Sussex. Abigail is once again staring in Panto at the Harlequin Theatre Redhill, this year playing Beauty in Beauty and the Beast.

In June Barrie celebrated his 70th Birthday and all the family surprised him by turning up to help him celebrate a landmark event with a surprise meal at a local hotel. Yet another day to remember. This year we decided to sell our two old cars and invest in just one between us. Julie and Barrie had a short break in Copenhagen and were able to visit Barrie’s brother who is 86 and lives just outside Copenhagen. Barrie continues his analytic work which involves frequent trips to London and meetings in Whitehall and the House of Commons.

Julie and Barrie still enjoy the pleasures of living in the New Forest with trips out to Winchester, Salisbury and our annual visit to the Romsey Show along with days away in Sussex and Essex.

Julie is working as hard as ever at school. In November Julie and Barrie celebrated their 40th Wedding anniversary with a fantastic meal at the hotel in Epsom where they had their wedding reception.

Claire is still working as Head of Media with Essex Police and Kharim is now working in the communications room at Essex Police. Aurelia Celebrated her second birthday this year.

Anthony continues to run his Personal Training business in Ealing London and still loves his Music Mixing on his computer.

Julie’s Mum Peggy now 96 enjoys living in her nursing home, a brand new complex in Seaford with her own room ensuite, and all the modern facilities that the home offers. She has problems with her short term memory and some other health issues, but has regular visits from all her daughters and their families.

Best wishes to you all

Julie, Barrie, Claire, Anthony, Abigail
